Some feedback we got from our first seminar: Quality of material - generally a very high standard....Clearly explained, quite a lot of content/slides, enjoyed the group discussions... would have liked list of recommended green suppliers... I was enthused by the range of sustainability the GLA is open to... Good use of visuals and examples of recycled products. Good ideas put forward, practical solutions to problems. I thought the course was informative and helpful in a relaxed atmosphere. Liked the style!... Good detail on standards, and good general overview of issues... on food aspects the topic should be covered but not to the level of detail of vegetarian/vegan... the issue of corporate sponsors went too far... (why not suggest) "Five things" each attendee will try to put into practice...
Consultancy
We specialise in green outdoor events in the UK.
Green Futures Festivals are open to all levels of consultancy from "one-offs" to ongoing involvement in your event, long term. There ere is no such thing as a typical consultancy as events vary so much.
First of all, and for free, we find out what level of experience and skill you are bringing to your event. This is an initial consultancy as we will often give hints on where else you can look for your information. We can follow this up with a questionnaire before we go to the next stage. Our scale of charges will depend on - how long you need us for, how much extra research and development we need to do for you, your level of funding, how far we need to travel. So we will negotiate this with you.
If you employ us the next stage will usually be an in-house consultation. We will attend your workplace or meetingplace for two to eight hours bringing with us a range of the information we think you require and work though it together. Where you require detailed information we can supply it and we can recommend a range of reading to supplement your knowledge.
Depending on what other support you need we can supply generic forms, databases, systems of work, ideas for improving your organisation, event content, we can recommend reliable suppliers, help with staffing, supply information about a range of caterers and other concessions, point you in the right direction for event safety, the list goes on....
Obviously we prefer socially aware, ethical and/or green events and we are not interested in putting our energy into events that
are of no benefit to our society or planet. If your event is lacking in funds we cannot at present offer full free consultation. We recognise there is a need and are now looking into ways of subsidising this activity through lottery funding.
